|Approved Suppliers
As a publicly and privately funded institution, the University of Toronto encourages supplier competition to obtain value for money, and uses a variety of procurement tools and methodologies to ensure cost-effective administration.
Suppliers selected from open, competitive procurement processes whether led by the U of T or by other public sector entities who provide commonly used goods and services to the U of T community.
- For more information, see Approved Suppliers.
- To find these supplier arrangements, search the Supplier Directory.
Diverse Suppliers
The University of Toronto is involved in many initiatives that foster sustainable economic prosperity, a healthy planet and community well-being. The Social Procurement Program includes a directory of Diverse Suppliers (e.g. social enterprise) available to U of T staff when purchasing goods and services.
- Suppliers can apply for registration using the Diverse Supplier Portal.
- For more information on the Program, see Social Procurement.
Other Collaborative Entities
As a Broader Public Sector (BPS) organization, the University can take advantage of additional collaborative arrangements through the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM) or the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS).
- For more information, see Other Collaborative Entities.
Affiliated Suppliers
The University has a number of affiliated suppliers that are part of the University community and are located on campus. Purchasing low value goods and services from these suppliers can be more convenient and cost effective, and may provide other financial benefits.
- For more information, see Affiliated Suppliers.
Prospective Suppliers
The University of Toronto is highly decentralized, complex and diverse. New suppliers in the market are encouraged to refer to MERX – the U of T public tendering site where we post competitive procurement opportunities. The University also values collaborative sourcing events undertaken by OECM and MGCS.
For more information, see Prospective Suppliers.
